The Trade Winds Motor Hotel – A Capitol Classic

Once a staple of Oklahoma City’s lodging scene, the Trade Winds Motor Hotel—later known as the Trade Winds Capitol Hotel—was part of a regional chain stretching across New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.

It was best known for two things: its iconic Tiki bar and its restaurant, a go-to spot for power brokers and policymakers cutting deals just steps from the State Capitol.

Over time, the chain was absorbed into Best Western, and the charm of these neon-lit, old-school motor hotels slowly faded into memory.

This design is a nod to a place where Oklahoma history was written—one round at a time.
